ALEXA Mini + Orion A-set
A 1,872-hour ALEXA with 4:3 and ARRIRAW, and a matched set of anamorphics. All of it for less than the three lenses cost new.
$29,500 for the whole package

The kit, up close.
I bought this kit in October 2022, back when I was doing a lot of DP work. The plan was to shoot with it and rent it out around Atlanta when I wasn't using it. Maybe that's your plan right now.
But then my business kind of took off. My company, Story First, niched into video for law firms, and I started traveling all over the country for it. An ALEXA and three anamorphics is just too much camera to haul around for that.
And then the Atlanta film market tanked. So it sat in a closet, and every once in a while I'd power it up to make sure everything was still good. It's literally just sad.
Okay, it had one more job. It was my webcam for sales calls. I mean, an ALEXA Mini as a webcam. I know. But that's where most of the hours since the ARRI service came from, sitting still on a desk, which is about the easiest life an ALEXA can have.
So now it needs to go to somebody who'll actually use it. I'm selling the whole kit as one package, for less than half of what I paid. I'm taking a real hit on it, and that's fine. I'd rather see it on set than keep it on my desk as the world's most expensive webcam.
Show up with an ALEXA.
Serial 25460. It's the ALEXA that ARRI built small enough for a gimbal or a drone. This one records ARRIRAW and ProRes 4444 XQ, and it has the 4:3 mode you need for 2x anamorphic. If you've ever tried to grade FX6 footage to look like an ALEXA, this is the camera you were trying to match. And clients notice when an ALEXA comes out of the case.

Low hours, and easy ones.
1,575 hours
October 2022
Bought at 1,575 hours.
That was low for a Mini even then. It came from Broadcast Video Warehouse, with the Orions and the EF mount on the same invoice.
About 1,678 hours
September 2023
ARRI went through it.
It got stuck in a boot loop at about 1,678 hours, so it went to ARRI Americas. New PRS5 board, sensor calibration, an image check and SUP 6.1.2. I paid $6,420 for all that, and it's run fine ever since.
1,872 hours
September 2026
1,872 hours today.
194 hours since ARRI, and most of those were Zoom calls on my desk. About three out of four used Minis for sale have more hours than this one.
And the glass might be the best part.
Atlas Orion 2x anamorphic primes, 40, 65 and 100mm, all T2. That's the blue streak flare and the oval bokeh, the stuff you buy anamorphics for. I've literally used them on one project, and they've lived in their foam ever since. The same set is $29,985 new.

Larkin Seiple shot all of Everything Everywhere All at Once on ALEXA Minis, with Atlas anamorphics in the lens kit. Filmmaker Magazine has the interview.
Drew Daniels shot Anora on film, and when he needed to open up to T2, he went to Atlas Orions. American Cinematographer has the story.
Both won Best Picture, and no, not with these exact lenses. I wish.
This is everything.
Most Mini kits for sale come with a viewfinder, a PL mount, a cage and a few cards. This one has both mounts, two cages, six cards, three batteries with a charger, the A-Box, AC power and an ATA road case, plus the three Orions in a case of their own. Here's every piece, and it all goes to one buyer.
Camera

ARRI ALEXA Mini body, serial 25460
1,872 hours. Serviced by ARRI Americas in 2023 and running SUP 6.1.2.

ARRI MVF-1 viewfinder
The Mini's own OLED viewfinder, with the flip-out monitor on the side. Shoot off the eyepiece or the screen.

PL mount
Takes the Orions and any other PL glass.

ARRI EF mount
Swap it in and your EF lenses go right on. Most Minis for sale only come with PL.

Wooden Camera A-Box
Audio breakout for the Mini. It turns the camera's audio connector into two XLR inputs, at line level.
Glass

Atlas Orion 40mm T2, 2x anamorphic
The wide one. Frames about like a 20mm.

Atlas Orion 65mm T2, 2x anamorphic
The middle of the set. Frames about like a 32mm.

Atlas Orion 100mm T2, 2x anamorphic
The close one, for faces and details. Frames about like a 50mm.

Hard lens case with foam for all three
Cut to fit the set, and it's where the lenses have been since that one project.
Rigging

Tilta cage for the ALEXA Mini
Basically Tilta's ESR-T06 Mini rig, plus a studio base plate and a few extra pieces. Top handle, extension handle, 15mm rods and a power distribution box with a Gold Mount plate. Tilta doesn't make it anymore.

Wooden Camera cage
Your second way to rig it. Top handle with the wood grip, a Gold Mount battery plate, and all the plates and hardware in the photos.
Media and power

Six SanDisk Extreme PRO 256GB CFast 2.0 cards
About 1.5TB of media, in a Pelican card case. Most kits for sale come with two to four cards.

Three IndiPro 130Wh Gold Mount batteries
They fit the Gold Mount plates on both cages, so you're not out shopping for batteries the day it shows up.

IndiPro dual charger
Charges two while the third one runs the camera.

AC power supply
Runs the camera off the wall for studio days and long setups.

Wi-Fi antenna
For the camera's web remote, so you can run it from a phone or a laptop.
Cases
The paperwork.
I'll walk you through all of it on the call, and serious buyers get redacted copies by email.

Who you'd be buying from.

I'm Chris Gray. I painted cars for close to twenty years before I ever picked up a camera, and I've been shooting ever since. I did a lot of freelance DP work around Atlanta, and now I run Story First, where we make videos for law firms all over the country.
This is my own camera. I bought it to shoot with, and I'd like it to end up with somebody who will. Look me up before you book. That's what I'd do.
See my work at thestoryfirst.comHow the sale works.
Book a Zoom walkthrough.
I'll power it up live and show you whatever you want to see. Bring your list.
Look at it for real.
In Atlanta? Come put your hands on it. Somewhere else? Have it shipped to a rental house or an ARRI service partner near you and get it bench tested before I see a dime. Shipping and the bench test are on you.
Pay by wire or through Escrow.com.
Local, you inspect it and wire the money at closing. Remote, we use Escrow.com, so your money sits with them until the kit shows up and checks out.
Get clean title.
The financing gets paid off out of the sale. Once the lien clears, you get the lender's release, and the kit is yours free and clear.
Ship it or pick it up.
Insured shipping in the road cases, or pick it up in Atlanta.
What I won't take
PayPal, Zelle, checks, or any escrow site besides Escrow.com. And if we use Escrow.com, you open the deal yourself on their site, so you know it's real.
Less than half of what I paid.
$29,500
for the whole package
You check it all out before I get paid.
Book a Zoom callHow that compares
In Atlanta, renting a Mini with a set of Orions runs about $1,100 a day. This whole kit costs about what 27 days of that would, and then it's yours.
Day rates are ShareGrid asks in Atlanta, September 2026.
Questions I get.
What's the catch?
Just one. It only goes as a package, to one buyer. Past that, it's a camera I bought for work that went a different direction, and you get to check out every bit of it first.
What kind of shape is it in?
Really, really good. ARRI went through it in 2023, and since then it's mostly been on my desk or in the closet. On the Zoom, tell me what you want to see and I'll hold it right up to the camera.
Can I buy just the lenses, or just the camera?
No. It goes as one package to one buyer. That's how I can price it like this.
What would I need to add?
A monitor, a follow focus, a matte box and wireless video if you work that way. If you're moving up from an FX6 or a Komodo, you probably own most of that already. A lens support for the 100 is smart too.
Any sensor issues or dead pixels?
ARRI calibrated the sensor and checked the image in 2023, and I haven't seen anything since. On the call I'll roll a black frame so you can see for yourself.
What about 4:3 and ARRIRAW?
Yep, it has both. It records ARRIRAW, and the resolution menu has 4:3 2.8K, Open Gate 3.4K and both anamorphic modes. 4:3 is the one you want with 2x anamorphics. On a 16:9 sensor they come out 3.56:1, and you'd crop away about a third of the frame to get to 2.39. The menu photos are up above, and on the Zoom I'll switch into any of these live.
Is there a warranty?
It's a private sale, so it's sold as is. That's exactly why you get to look at it first, in person or on a bench at a rental house, and I don't get paid until you sign off on it.
Could I rent it out?
That was my plan, and then Atlanta dried up. ShareGrid says Orion sets go out about five days a month on average, but that's across their whole site, so check your own market. And you can always bill it as a camera package on your own jobs.
Do you ship outside the US?
Yes, through Escrow.com. You handle customs and import fees.
Is the price firm?
Pretty firm. I priced it low up front so we could skip the back and forth. If you need it lower, say so in the form.
Book a Zoom walkthrough.
There's one of these, and it goes to the first buyer who checks it out and closes. Answer five quick questions and pick a time. It's a Zoom call, because you should see it power up before you buy it.

Chris GrayYou'll be talking to me.
Alright, pick a time.
Grab any slot that works. You'll get a Zoom link by email. The calendar asks for your cell so it can text you one reminder an hour before the call. That's all I'll use it for.
My calendar isn't hooked up to this page yet. I have your info, and I'll email you a few times that work.
Open the calendar in a new tabThanks, {name}.
You're on the list. If the price moves, you'll hear it from me first.
Got it.
Your info came through. I'll email you within a day with the next step.
